Here at Idahoan®, we believe in using simple, honest ingredients to bring the greatest value to our customers and those that they serve. That’s what inspired us to launch our new Honest Earth® line, which focuses on using clean ingredients and minimizing unnecessary additives — with no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. We are proud to use ingredients found in nature, such as Acacia.
Acacia is a natural gum derived from the Acacia tree. It is harvested in a 100% natural process, coming from the wild trees in the southern Sahel of Africa. A positive for your guests and our planet — Acacia gum is guaranteed to be free from pesticides and GMOs, and Acacia trees are used to reforest deserts, helping to preserve the biodiversity of the regions that they are found in. This benefit bounces back to serve the ecosystems and communities where Acacia is grown and harvested, so you can be confident in serving clean, fresh, and sustainable dishes to your guests.

Most importantly, Acacia gum is among the clean additives that pose no threat to human health. Therefore, it serves as a safe alternative to traditional emulsifiers.
Both Honest Earth® Rustic Mashed Potatoes and Hash Brown Shredded Potatoes include Acacia to enhance the overall mouthfeel of our delicious Fresh-Dried™ potatoes. In addition, it delivers a neutral taste to our Honest Earth offerings so that you can serve perfect potatoes, every time.
Now more than ever, we live in an era of conscious consumerism. More than half of consumers claim to always check the nutritional information for the food they purchase. Our Honest Earth® line was developed specifically to speak to this consciousness. Using clean ingredients like Acacia gum allows us to enhance our delicious, better-for-you potatoes. It’s a straightforward approach that focuses on prioritizing simple ingredients and sustainable farming practices to ensure the health of the communities that we serve.
