Idahoan Foods’ Corporate Executive Chef Appointed Director at Large for the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals
Chef Richard Hoelzel to serve as the organization’s voice on
nutritional care through foodservice management
Idahoan Foods’ Corporate Executive Chef, Richard Hoelzel, was recently appointed Director at Large for the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP). In this role, Hoelzel will promote the organization’s initiatives on nutritional care to industry stakeholders.
ANFP is a national not-for-profit organization with more than 15,000 professionals dedicated to providing optimum nutritional care to hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, and other non-commercial settings through foodservice management.
“I’m honored to have this new role with ANFP, especially because the mission of the organization aligns so well with Idahoan Foods’ commitment to clean label products with our new portfolio of Honest Earth ® potatoes,” said Hoelzel. “It’s my passion to help other culinary professionals express their creativity through food that provides health benefits to seniors, students, and other consumers.”
Hoelzel, who previously held another board position with the organization, says one of his goals as Director at Large is to recruit and engage a new generation of culinary professionals to maximize ANFP’s reach and impact within the foodservice industry.
“It’s important to expand our membership among rising chefs to be certain our mission is relevant to new generations,” said Hoelzel. “The better-for-you food movement is here to stay, and we want to equip younger professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to continue to develop menus that offer both the best in taste and nutrition.”
Hoelzel earned his degree at the Culinary Institute of America and joined Idahoan Foods in 2020, following a 20-year position as Corporate Executive Chef and Regional Director of Operations for a leading global contract foodservice and hospitality company. During his tenure at Idahoan Foods, he’s been instrumental in establishing the Honest Earth brand as a trusted ingredient and one-stop shop for foodservice operators seeking versatile plant-based and clean label products.
